Looks like my "make offer" was high enough to win this coin, so as soon as I pay for it I can start waiting for the mail. It's hard to find nice examples of this date and this one looks pretty good in the seller's photos. What do all you graders think?

I'd say XF45.

From what I can see from the image it looks at least AU-50.

fields look reflective--are we looking at a proof coin?

Hi Atlas,
There does appear to be significant luster on this coin which I think should support a grade of EF-45. I don't think it makes AU-50, but you never know.

Carson City did produce a few branch mint proofs but I'm not aware that the 1875-CC half is known in proof. Certainly there are lots of proof-like and deep mirror proof-like CC dollars, so I expect some halves also exist with P-L surfaces.

I'll know more when I receive the coin. I wouldn't complain if it is P-L!

Looks like a nice, original EF-45 example from what I can make out in the pics. I really like it.

Its a really nice looking coin. I would say it would grade it at XF45 or possibly a AU
