I agree. An incuse mark on the die, will leave a raised area on the coins. So it could be a die dot or die gouge or even a die dent. But it is not a
Cud. If it were a
Cud, the then that area would be higher than the rim would be.

Cud is when part of the outside area of the die breaks off. When this happens the gutter shelf breaks away as well.

Then the Void will be filled with the planchet material and be as tall as the void, or until it runs out of the planchet stock material.
