I know quarters after 1964 should weigh 5.7 but this 1974 weighs 6 I've added pics taken at 4 diff angles so maybe that will help. Thanks in advance for your help
I see the areas in question, but can't see what is happening. If the areas are incuse, then they are coin damage. If they are raised, a closer view would be helpful to see what your seeing.
Finally here's more pics. Hope they are little better. The quarter weighs 6 grams the obverse maybe poss dd or Ms in the date and in god we trust. Also the eye and nose area looks kinda funny. reverse dollar dd or md. the rim is thick
Well these devices all look normal. In order for a coin to be a doubled die, the devices end to be enlarged in size. The more they are enlarged and the more the spread, the more interest in them. Looking at V.V for doubled dies that year, shows none: http://www.varietyvista.com/09b%20W...Listings.htm Pretty sparse after 1970. Wexler shows one DDR for that year: http://doubleddie.com/2019705.html But not much doubling going on that year/mint
It may be a slightly heavy planchet. Within tolerance I believe. I have a1943 P steel cent that weighs 3.0 grams. Sometimes some planchet are rolled a little thicker than others.
