Yeah, pretty simple question...
How can you get boxes of coins? Is it the best thing to do? I just started coin roll hunting...

Start off by going to YOUR bank (or credit union) and ask them if they will order them for you and what their coin policy happens to be.

Remember that you are asking them to provide you a service that costs them money. Those armored car drivers and delivery handlers do not work for free. The coin handlers at the armored car company that handle bulk coins and roll them up do not work for free either.

The last thing you wanna do is pick up boxes of coins on Friday from your bank and then show up on Monday and try to deposit them back in the bank.

You will wear out your welcome real quick! Good luck!

Just walk in and ask your bank at the counter for loose coin, rolls or boxes. Do not call ahead; that will give the tellers time to cherry pick their holdings.
Or, ask if they will order X amount of coin for you, takes a couple days for your order to come in.

I call ahead and order boxes of cents,I have ordered up to 12 at a time with no problems. Make sure to find a different "dump" bank.

I just walk in and ask for what type of coin that I want. They know me very well at my bank, and are very nice. They usually have a box of cents and a box of nickels on hand that they will sell to me each visit. Sometimes they even have boxes of dimes and quarters. I know that I am lucky, as most banks don't usually save boxes for people; but my bank always has boxes for me. I don't even need to order them ahead of time. Now if I get $75 or more in cents, then I call and order the cents. Also I know that a lot of you will frown upon this, but I dump the coins back at the same bank. I have a really good relationship with the tellers; I even give them Christmas gifts. The good thing is that I still find old coins, even though I dump at the same bank. I hope that I could help you with the information that I wrote.
