Poll Question
Is this the end of coin collecting as far as modern circulated coins are concerned... .. ¿ Will covid-19 keep you from searching for coins?

No. FYI, the virus will survive on metal and most surfaces for about 12 hours. Also, it doesn't like sun. So get your coins on a sunny day and search them the next day.

Just collect silver. Silver has antimicrobial properties.

You left out at least one option. I don't collect "modern circulated coins". Heck, I don't even collect modern coins, circulated or not.

Quote: Just collect silver. Silver has antimicrobial properties. Viruses are not microbes. So the silver will kill the microbes and eliminate the competition for the viruses. On the other hand, what usually kills people who get viral infections are opportunistic secondary bacterial infections, so maybe the silver collecting will protect you from those.

I didn't vote but . . . All my coins have little masks on them now and are quarantined in the safe.

My coins are classics (you know older) so I've quarantined each in a separate home. With clear walls to separate them from each other. There are several huddled together but they are quarantined together so hopefully they don't transmit to the others.

Not to burst anyone's bubble, but the coronavirus is quite likely to hit all of us unless they discover a cure. Kind of like chicken pox, once you have it, you can't get it anymore.
Meaning that, in the end, it is very likely every single person will have it. All everyone is doing is simply postponing it.

I work at a school that trains the merchant marine industry. Since the governor of Florida implemented a state of emergency, we are under a strict , semi lockdown/quarantine. All walks of life come through the school & reside there for day/weekly/monthly classes. This is on Broward County, with Port Everglades less than a mile away. There have been some cases there regarding certain people that work for the cruise industry. So far ,as of yet, no one has been classified as a risk , unless traveling from certain areas of the globe. As of yesterday, even if I take vacation out of the Tri-county area, I am subject to a questionnaire & a possible 24 day exodus from work, having to use all my vacation time before coming back. A lot of hype & fear mongering out there, just take care of yourself & loved ones & stay frosty & clean :)
