This is a question in regards to finding and preserving an MS quality coin during a roll coin roll search. Fingerprints can be a collectors nightmare. So I'm asking for advice. Am I wasting my time wearing gloves while searching through penny rolls as to not add anymore fingerprints to what an MS quality find may already have? Thank you.
Rest in Peace

Unless you are searching solid date OBW rolls you will find finger prints on some of the coins because normal mixed date bank rolls have circulated coins in them . If you want to go through these and not wear gloves then simply pick up the coins by the edges .

I have CRHed since 1971 and looked through a few cents in my day, check my signature line . I have never worn cotton gloves including when I go through MS rolls, just be careful and hold only the edge of the coin. Also, never talk or breath over a coin when you are examining it.

to CCF...I don't wear gloves and if I do find a nice MS coin while CRHing it goes into a quick Acetone bath...have fun and good luck on future finds...

and expecially don't rub your eye before washing you hands really good, it's worse than the pepper sprays.
