@EnV
Thanks
@coop
I'm hoping for 001 due to the similar MM styling at the center, the circles that appear. I did send it to John Wexler so I hope to hear back either next week.

I believe this is RPM-001/WRPM-001.
-005 is a D/D rotated RPM while your coin (and -001) is a D/D south RPM.

Checking again, the location of the mintmark is slightly different. So it would not be WRPM-005. I wish these sites would include a full image of the date area. I couldn't even get with a 90% image from Wexler's site a machine for the over all shape of the date as the tops of the devices were cut off. Why would that make a difference? It the date was not horizontal, then the location of the mintmark would be off. But I could tell the distance was different on the mintmark placement.

I know that all the 18-D rpm's have alluded me for quite some time. Excellent find!

Had to share the email I got yesterday... The good news is that the 1918-D Lincoln Cent is an RPM Variety. It is the variety that I have listed as 1918-D 1¢ WRPM-001. Congratulations on the RPM find. I plan to use the RPM in my "Varieties Notebook" column in Coin World. It is scheduled to be in the November 19, 2019 installment of that column. If you decide to send the RPM to ANACS to be slabbed with the Wexler File number, be sure to include a copy of this letter along with the coin. Sincerely, John A. Wexler

1918-D is one of the toughest years to find any of the RPMs. Hard to say for sure whether this is due to relative rarity or just the general lack of decent coins at high enough grades to actually see the things. Either way, that's a killer find, and excellent news that it has now been professionally attributed so no questions left about that end of things. As for value, there is no way to know for sure obviously, as it's not a registry coin variety, but I'd peg it at somewhere around $75 over coin value minimum. Maybe a bit more if you find the right buyer.
