I will try to get better pics, more areas on this 1998 penny number two lots more. this is amazing stuff I might have a set of 1998 double struck pennies from 1998 philly.Penny number one is still at PCGS. For those who don't know this but in 1998 I retired from the Navy after over 20 years of working in destroyers enginerooms. became a chief engineer on oil rig supply boat and was almost killed out in the gulf. this was quite a year for me.

Yep! FFD. (Feeder finger Damaged) What causes this? Feeder fingers are used to remove the coin from the chamber of the dies. But if this is a bit slow making this happen, the finger get struck:

This cents the fingers and as it is continued to be used, it scratches the dies. On side of the other, which ever way the fingers get bent.

This one may have affected the die that was over polished on this coin:

So when we see die scrapes that flow behind the devices, this should come into mind.

When polished out it affects the dies like this:

They can be mild:

They can be strong:
This-Is-Another-1998-Philly-Minted-Penny-That-I-Belive-Is-Double-Struck.
But they always flow behind the devices and designs.
