Hi, Curious to hear thoughts on this 1859 indian head I picked up from folks who are much more experienced in grading/valuing coins. Would appreciate any feedback from the community before sharing what I paid for it.

Definitely cleaned. After that, grade doesn't mean much.

The coin also took a hit on the rim next to the O on the obverse.

You'll have to wait another 25 years for the natural elements to come back naturally.

It certainly looks cleaned, but it could be that the lighting is too bright. Is that the true color and lightness of the coin?

Here's a picture I took this morning using my phone, under natural sunlight. With the naked eye, it has a gold tone, with some reddish hues mixed in as you rotate the coin under a light source.

I'm debating whether to return this coin or not. On one hand, I see a cleaned value of 10-15 dollars coming from folks here and on other sites, and on another hand I see coin dealers online selling this coin in very similar condition, graded as being cleaned, for $85+ dollars. Granted, they need to make some money and recoupe any grading fees, but $15 to $85+ is a big gap. I'm adding one more set of pictures with flatter lighting to double confirm what everyone is saying.

I'm still not convinced it's been cleaned. Is that the true color of the coin?

That's the true color. The original photos were at night under soft yellow lighting. The second post with a photo was in sunlight...that's the color it gives off under that kind of light...it has decent luster with a reddish reflection. Under flat light from almost overhead, the color in my last post is what you see...it's like a dark gold. Not like the usual pink cleaned looking coins I'm used to seeing, but again I'm far from an expert.
