Pulled it because it looks like some of the image on the reverse is missing.
Looks like it's was scratched off but figured I'd post for opinions.

Probably just PSD, but can you please post a full picture of the obverse? That will help to confirm whether it's damage or not.

Would the obverse have same pattern of damage if it was strike error of some sort?

Hermz, yes, depending on the type of error. For example, a Weak (Low Pressure) Strike would show even weakness on both sides. http://www.error-ref.com/weak_strik...rampressure/
