Just Picked this up for my 7070. I think it'll fit in quite nicely. I like the color (probably cleaned a long time ago) and the strike is sharp. The photos are the sellers, I'll post more when it's in hand.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. The seller graded this VF-20

I'll say VF-25 as well. Attractive example.

My first thought is how many Flying Eagle cents this soin might have traded for in 1856!?

Seriously though, this is a pleasing, mid-grade type coin.

When you post your pics, please make sure to take it out of the 2x2 first. I'm sure you were going to anyways, but just in case you didn't think of it.

My pleasure, GMS5. This tool enhances the beauty of your 1856, methinks.

One word of advice .... It helps to closely crop your original, pic prior to using this tool. It takes a bit of practice.

Zero. In 1856 the only Flying Eagle cents were patterns and they were already commanding a significant premium. The quarter was just a quarter, worth 25 cents.

That was simply my first thought ... SORRY! That said, many of these 1856 pattern pieces eventually found their way into circulation. I've personally seen at least a half dozen of them at shows. I saw a slabbed one in fine condition at the recent Chattanooga show. That was likely on my mind.
