coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 03/25/2020 4:29 pm On a normal strike coin, the first thing you note is the rim. On your coin the rim is damaged. It is not circular anymore. Incuse marks on a coin are 99% of the time damage from coin contact. 1% of the time is a a mint error. Note the rim distortion. On a normal coin the width is pretty much the same all around the edge of the coin. On your coin you can also see this distorted. How much damage is needed to remove a coin from collectable value. One hit. Then it is done to a serious collector. It the coin was a valuable variety coin, en then damage can remove 90% of the premium value for a coin. So ask yourself when you see an questionable coin; "Would I buy this coin?" is the answer is not, it is spendable. Put it back to work. Report this Post to the Staff
