I'm not Ray Charles, but this pic doesn't really give me what I need to see. When I rotate, crop, enlarge, and enhance, I might convince myself that the two arms of the letter Y are different widths. I'd have a better pics and be sure.

Better resolution photos needed. Cropping is a good practice, better resolution is quite good too.

There are so many machine doubled cents that year/mint. Even the doubled dies are mostly showing Machine Doubling as well. Note all are doubled dies, the yellow arrows shows where the Machine Doubling happened. (Mostly in a South direction on the coins) Better images will tell a better story.

Well I have come to the conclusion that my micro/ cam a ( koolerton 4.3) is at fault here I try different settings different lighting exposure, and resoulutions 12m to vga and I'm not sure if any of them is any better and its strange to me that as I zoom inn for a close up the doubling that that is rather prominent in my loupe but zoomi g in for a blown up view the doubling dissappears like I'm focusing it out to almost none. I stuggling to wrap my head around all this. Does anyone have any suggestions about wich digital usb microscope that does take quality hy- resolution picture omaybe a

@coop76, we have a whole subforum dedicated to photographing coins, but it can be easy to go down a rabbit hole there in terms of equipment. Here is one thread that is pretty typical: http://goccf.com/t/361735

When you say hands full. If you see the same thing on several of them, pick a theme so the answer to one coin, may fit several others as well. But keep them one coin per post. That way there is no confusion on which coin we are talking about. Also the coin get full attention that way.

Quote: its strange to me that as I zoom inn for a close up the doubling that that is rather prominent in my loupe but zoomi g in for a blown up view the doubling dissappears like I'm focusing it out to almost none Is the camera using an optical zoom or a digital zoom? Many cameras use a digital zoom which is worthless because with a digital zoom as it zooms in the camera moves the pixels further apart and then "interpretes" (guesses) what the pixel between them would look like.
