However, 1924 silver silvers are much less common than the 1922 and 1923 dates that proliferate in roll offerings and in bullion portfolios. In 1924, Peace dollars were struck only at the Philadelphia and San Francisco mints; in fact, the 1924-S Peace dollar is widely considered a semi-key date coin, with only 1,728,000 originally minted, and certainly fewer surviving today. The Philadelphia issue, on the other hand, is much more common, with 11,811,000 pieces struck in 1924.

Neither the 1924 nor 1924-S is considerably pricey in the lower grades, at about $20 to $30 each for one somewhere in the moderately worn grades (with silver at a spot price of $20). However, the 1924 (Philadelphia) is worth only about $30 in uncirculated, while the 1924-S in Mint State-60 commands a figure of about $300.
