This one seems to have nice extra thickness on the date and moderate extra thickness on the rest of the coin. I'll throw in a couple of comparison pics with the date of the another 1939 S. What do you guys think? Thanks for looking!

Thanks greasy. He'll probably know more. It could even be a master die or a Die Deterioration thing.

There's a chance that it could be. It's much thicker than normal.

It's obviously a later die state, so the slight extra thickness could be due to die wear. Based on the pics, it has more vague uniform thickness than thickness that pushes towards the rim like a Class VI DD. Can you get more pics of IN GOD WE TRUST?

The thickness is, as Tanman notes, from a later die stage and does not show characteristics of a DDO. Tanman's description is correct.

Thanks guys. It's definitely a vlds coin. John 1 I think the rippling is due to the die wear. I can't get the better pic of IGWT right now I away from home. There s a tiny bit of md on trust. Wasn't sure if about this one that's why I asked!

I've got one I'll post later that there is no question on!
