I heard that people at the mint are no longer working due to covid19. Could this affect the mintage production for 2020 Silver Eagles I'm thinking this will effect the value of the 2019 S enhanced rv pf Silver Eagle (30,000 mintage) due to a Low mintage production of the 2020 enhanced rv pf Silver Eagle Edited by Switch- 04/01/2020 7:21 pm

.... to the Community! Yes...with no one running production things don't get made. Pretty much true for everything that's manufactured. No people = no new product.

They eventually begin producing again. Even with a shutdown for a few months, they'll have plenty of time to fulfill orders later in the year.
This will have little to no effect on the 2019-S reverse proofs.

Th biggest single factor that will affect mintage figures is demand, driven by a poor economy. Most collectors need cash in hand just now, not the luxury of ASE's. Even if you still have a job.

Meh, reality is bullion buyers are going to buy bullion in a slow economy, or a recessed economy, or a depressed economy as long as it's available.
there might be a demand issue for collector coins, people won't want to spend the money for them, but it really won't affect the accumulators. However a shortage of supply might affect accumulators and raise bullion prices.
you can check the silver sites, the bullion eagles are all mostly sold out.
By the way are they making an enhanced reverse proof 2020 silver eagle? I didn't hear about that...

Erm no lol. I think they'll want to lay low for a little while after the 2019 S Rev PF debacle. Besides next year will be the 35th anniversary and probably the last year of the soon to be "Type 1" silver eagles, so they'll probably offer up some special sets next year. Until then, enjoy having to buy only 2 proofs for this year(S and W).

I think this year is the last of the "Type 1" ASE and will probably have 3 proofs to buy this year (S, W, and W 75th Anniversary of the end of WWII).

They have minted over 300k 2020 W proof ASE's so I don't think that will bother the 2019 ERP I will assume you are referring to the upcoming S proof and W Burnished. Those could be interesting but I will go out on a limb and say they will not threaten a 30k mintage coin in the least. They COULD threaten the low mintage key of their type though when you add the potential lower production and increase in price BTW...the 2019 ERP is STILL not listed as being sold out

This thread assumes production of a 2020 enhanced reverse proof silver eagle. Has there been any indication of production of such an item?
