Right now most banks are closed, as in you can't walk in. But, the drive thru is still functioning.

Do you think bank tellers would be willing to give you coin rolls through the drive thru if you asked for them?

Thank you John!

I plan to go tomorrow, or the day after that. Hopefully I'll get several rolls of cents to sustain me. It's been a good few months since I've searched rolls for errors and varieties.

Another question:

Do you think they would allow me to get an entire box of cents?

If it's something you already do at that bank/branch and if it fits through the drawer then I see no reason not to ask. As long as you aren't trying to have them sent through the pneumatic tubes.

Alright thank you! In fact it isn't what I already do at the bank I'm going to.

I haven't ever been there actually. I guess we will find out soon!

Some banks will. I have a cheat though. My aunt who lives around the corner is a head teller at Suntrust so I just get her to drop them off for me. Also the head teller at the TD I bank at just tells me to text her my orders and she'll just have me pick them up whenever.
Rest in Peace

Before this pandemic hit , banks would usually frown upon coin roll transactions through the widow . but now that most banks are closed for walk ins I don't see any reason why they wouldn't give you at least 5 rolls at a time .

My bank has a "by appointment only" lobby. I am pretty sure I could call ahead like I always do and order boxes of cents and then pick them up By Appointment, but I do not want to bother them during this crisis..It just doesn't feel right to do so.

I can't even get the right cash from the drive thru. Nothing but large bills.

So would it be immoral to do so? I mean, I have never searched through an entire roll of cents, and while I have so much free time, I would like to get one. Should I not do that? Would they even be able to give me a box of cents through the drive thru? Not for sure if that would even fit through the window.

I just don't want to cause trouble for them but, I would like to be able to get a large amount of cent rolls, so I wouldn't have to return and bother them again. So the big question is, SHOULD I be trying to get a box of cents, and is it even technically possible to get them through the window?

I've been going through the drive-through lane which is immediately adjacent to the building--where a 'push out' tray is located. Coin rolls can be passed through these trays, NOT the pneumatic tubes one might find at most drive-throughs. I only get small amounts of rolls, and no boxes. Keep the burden on the teller low, very low.

If you never searched coin rolls before the you definitely don't want to get a box. I have sorted through Wheat cent rolls through the years. Still haven't completed my collection. It take a good morning to go through about ten rolls.

Ah sorry about that, I forgot this post existed. I was planning to tell you guys about it but, I forgot.

Anyway, yes I got 10 rolls from the bank. The teller was extremely nice, turns out they're quite bored. Her grandson is also a coin collector.

@Chilidogdave I have searched hundreds of rolls, I've just never gotten an entire box before. I usually have small time zones to search cents, but now my time is wide open.
