MorgansRmine, do you think it could be a really early VAM-2C?
Vamworld writes...

"An earlier stage of the VAM 2C is also known. This example was attributed by Leroy Van Allen 25 Oct 2006
Note that the break at the back of the cap is not yet formed, only a faint crack is visible. Liberty's upper lip is counterclashed.
This example has no hint of mirrored surface, unlike the later stage pictured above, also note that the later stage appears to have an additional clashmark from the back of the cap. During the lifespan of the VAM 2 marriage, the dies clashed at least 4 times and were repolished at least twice. An interesting study in die progression that may yield several more reported stages."

It does have additional clashing behind the cap but no break yet. It also has the die chip numbers, the only thing that gets me is it has the line below the 8 and the CC mintmark is filled.
Another big question I have is the large marks across the A in STATES. Could this be clashed neck point? It is in the perfect location. Hard to see even with 20x loupe, but looks shattered almost flaky... a stummper.

Thank you MorgansRmine for helping me with this,
Zac

VAMit, 2C is not possible since the remnents of the misplaced 1 is still present under the 8 and polishing lines are present around the first 3 stars. The best we can hope for is a new discovery coin. Can I see a close up of the lip area and the front neck line ? Yes, that is clashing from the neck point on the reverse A.

Thanks MorgansRmine, that is great news about the clashing over the A, at first I thought it was a smudge or damage. I am finding a lot of the things I thought were damage upon my first inspection is turning out to be clashing! So far I have most of the outline of the head on the reverse.
And wow, do you really think there is a chance of a new discovery? If that was the case, would it be a VAM-2d or something along the VAM-2 family?

Ok here are some more pictures, the first one is the lips. Not as much or the same clashing as I see on the other VAM-2 varieties, and pretty hard to get a clear shot. Some pictures I took show nothing at all, trying different lighting right now.

And the neck...

Has the neck clashing and possibly more, or do you think I am too close?

Thank you MorgansRmine!

And thank you nlp coins for the welcome and glad you like the post, but with out MorgansRmine it would just be a photo album, lol.

All good things must come to an end. I can clearly see the clashed N from In God We Trust under the Wing clash on the neck line.
VAM 2A. Interest 5, rarity 5, nice "Hit 40" coin.
