It looks as if something has shaved a layer off from the "IC" in "AMERICA" and I can not figure out (surprise, surprise!) what happened here!? As far as I know (not much!) there is no clad on copper pennies! (Sorry for the upside-down LIBERTY picture, I tried to turn it around but there must be a bug because it comes out here this way all the time!)

Thank you, John1, lamination error was one of my guesses, just I haven't seen one to leave this clean cut! But I think you are right again!

Probably just me but it looks like the last two images are different coins.
And I'm seeing more of a Struck Through Grease coin with different devices missing or weak on the date, motto and LIBERTY.

Out of curiosity, what is the weight of the coin in question?
and how about a closeup of the IC area since I can't seem to get the posted images to enlarge. Thanks in advance.

Huhh! Something fishy is going on with my pictures! The first two and the 4th pictures are from another posting! How could they get here?!! I'm going to try to correct it!
Answering the question, the lam coin weighs 3.07 grams! That should be the right coin here!
OK! I'll be back!

hello Preantique,

PICTURES: You must name each uploaded picture with a unique file name. If you don't, picture uploads with the same file name will change all other listings that have the same picture file name.

EDIT: I think everyone has gone thru this scenario.

Not much we can do, if you are the one overwriting the original picture filenames. Start another thread maybe, and upload new photos with unique file names....

They are named differently, but very similar! The pictures in the Clad file are just numbered from 1 to 8, the "198?..." file pictures are numbered 1a, 2a, 3a,....etc. Pure laziness!
I think the best thing to delete this post and post it again for the enjoyment of those few who haven't adored it yet! What do you think, can I do that? Thanks!
