This year and mint is kind of rare and was wondering if those facial scratches automatically details the coin. It looks to be a VF-25, maybe even a 30 if not for the scratches, so what do you think? Probably cleaned too, ya think?

I decided to bail on this coin anyway since I couldn't get any opinions soon enough. The auction ends in 5 minutes and I can do better ...... so thanks anyway.

I think the scratches on the face would have detailed it and are pretty distracting.

You made the correct decision to pass. The coin would grade VF details scratched. It also has a number of rim dings and some displaced metal on the obverse.

Details for scratches. The 1903-S is not a very rare coin, but a better date in the Morgan series.
