As the dies age on the single squeeze dies, the fields next to the devices that are closest to the rims show field distortion. that is what you are seeing on your coin. This can happen on one area/one side of the coin or on both sides of the coin. On the older setup for dies, the devices actually were distorted. On the DDD, the fields are distorted. Thus you can tell the different methods of die creation when looking at these difference.
