It's incredible, but the very first coin I took in my hand from a new roll this morning was this coin. (It must have been my present from the Easter Bunny!) I have a feeling (good) that it is doubled, but even after scrolling through VarietyVista,I am not that brave to categorize it. I hope someone will able to help me out! Thank you! Happy Easter!

It is a normal Cent with flattened, mushy devices a result of 76yrs. of circulation. But a great one to find in the wild.

A well-circulated 40s Wheat cent. Is that a die crack running vertically through Lincoln's head?

Just circulation wear and flattening on the devices. Not a Doubled Die.

The obverse does look mushy but.... Have you looked closely at the reverse?

I see some lite thickness on the motto, especially the bottom of the U's. If you are up for it post some close-up images of both wheats and ERI (AMERICA)

My eyes might be playing tricks on me but there appears to be a similar die scratch going WNW from the top of the L (PLURIBUS) on 1944s DDR-007

In the future, it is helpful to mention which type of doubling you think you are seeing and where it is on the coin. It puts lots of pairs of eyes on particular areas.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

But it is a doubled die. Note the uprights on the '44'?

Possible DDO-010?

Does that mean that this, too, is a DDO?

I guess some people will say it's a Doubled Die but for me personally I would never consider it one.

Possibly so. It might be the same die number or 006, You would need to check the mintmark locations to see if they are the same or different. But it showing the same distortion on the 44.

This is not a doubled die. Just a very worn coin.
