Hello,

I recently came across a nice 1965 Specimen coin for sale, it's the second one I've seen lately...does anyone know if these coins are scarce and if they were issued individually or in sets?

Thanks!

They are scarce. Issued in VIP sets. Be very careful if uncertified, switching the sets with gem PL coins has been known to happen. If you have an eye for earlier specimen strikes, then they'll stand out very clearly.

I have seen the 10 cent pop up on ebay from time to time. I think there was a small group that came to the market a few years ago, that is still looking for a final buyer. Prices have seemed high to me.

I saw a $1 dollar come up at one of the big auction houses in the last couple years, but not much else.

I picked up a couple 1964 sp dollars in the last year or so.
