Hello fellas it has been a week or so and haven't posted anything. Started looking through some change again today and found this dime and was wondering why it looks like it does. Can't be acid or it would be on the entire coin I would think but I will leave the important stuff up to you guys. Thanks Chris

The die on the coin started to wear out and is in a late die state. Those are die flow lines.

@h24, acid would have reduced the weight of this coin--I'm thinking that it is within mint spec. This dime is the result of a tired die as noted by @jm99 and @john1.

Yes, a very worn out reverse die struck your coin. Very Late Die State coin with heavy die flow lines.

It will continue to strike coins until they retire it or re-polish it again, and remove the die flow lines.
