Note a die chip on the mintmark, but the punch they use for that years dies, was breaking down until they replace it. Why does if breakdown? The punch is hammer into a hardened die. Thus it sometimes looses it integrity.
Coin has the characteristics of a moderately circulated early 70s copper cent, with some environmentally-caused issues. Those S mint mark punches are a scream.
