I think I can make out an E on the side of the quarter, and I have a couple more interesting pictures. I think I see something on the three.

Not seeing what you are seeing? Chances are if is not an individual device. The areas often affected by a clash is on the central areas. The outline of the bust and the reverse design transfers to the opposite die.. only on extreme die clashes have I ever seen a transfer of letter devices.

@BLC, the best way to determine if you have a clash is to look at an overlay and see if the potentially transferred details match up.

On the 6th image you can see the date. The only Clash I know of that show a clash date on a coin. (that I've seen so far)
