Hi everyone. I found this guy while searching through a couple bank rolls this afternoon. Looks like an rpm to me, but not sure which one. Also, the reverse has a small die chip. Any suggestions?

That sure looks like an RPM to me
I just won't guess which one...I seem to get these wrong, lol.
Take a look at that bump on the T in CENT (rev). Does that help identify?

Hi Mike,

It looks like 1955D-1MM-002 to me. Check this site, bookmark the site as it is invaluable for lincoln varieties.

I think Desertgem pegged it. Yours looks a little different because of what looks like a little damage on the upper left part of the primary D.

Thanks,
Bill

1955S-1MM-002 - One of the most common wheat RPMs, this one seems to pop up at least once in every wheat bag I search. I have at least a roll of these in various circulated grades, most EF or above, since 1955 Lincolns didn't circulate widely past 1959. This one and it's similar buddy 1955D-1MM-004 are VERY common in all grades below full-red mint state. Value is around $1 for upper end circualted examples.

Thanks for all the info. I'm always finding different things. I guess after I do this for a while I'll start to notice what's more common.

It just takes time and a lot of coins to gain the experience and knowledge. I've been through millions of coins over a period of more than 25 years. I have seen a large number of RPMs and doubled dies and pretty much know what to 'expect' and what's really scarce. This RPM is one I pretty much 'expect' out of nearly every bag I find.
