I just found these today - pulled from circulation years ago. I always thought that to be 'clipped' the ''cut' had to be curved but the glossary says that straight clips exist.

Please confirm. Thank you.

First looks legit to me, second looks altered. I would expect to see at least some Blakesley effect on a coin with that significant of a clip, but I could be mistaken.

They look altered to me. Note the devices are not fading near the affected areas?

Note the devices fading on the affected areas next to the clips. Also not the Blakesley affect showing 180 degrees from the clipped areas.

Great info as usual, Coop! Didn't know that larger clips actually reduced the Blakesley effect. That's good to know.

It seems that what proto rim didn't make that edge rise, seems like they strike forces it a bit. Except on the last one where it didn't.
