while coin roll hunting with a friend I found what I think is a 1998 WAM which cost me a River of No Return W Quarter.
this is the first WAM I found worth keeping

Looks like it. Excellent find. 98 is significantly rarer than 2000, as I recall. What do you mean it "cost you" a river of no return W?

Ah, so your friend found it and traded it for a W? You got the better deal, imo. I know Ws are the cool thing right now, but this is objectively a far rarer and (in my opinion) more interesting coin.
