Are there any good books out there (in English or German) for German coins, especially from the 1800s to now?

In particular, is there any equivalent to the RedBook for US coins? Something that's gives a notion of value?

Also, are there some type of encyclopedia books giving detailed descriptions and information about the coins?

https://www.NGCcoin.com/price-guide/world/

This will have information similar to Krause mentioned by @kanga, but in an online format.

The most up-to-date values an be found by doing a search on ebay for most common coins.

Have you looked at Grosser deutscher Münzkatalog von 1800 bis heute and Jaeger's Die deutschen Münzen seit 1871? I understand they are the standard references.
