Just wondering if this is worth being sent in (that is if and when these grading companies open back up). It's a really nice new shiny dime with the feeder finger scratches. I couldn't find much about these types of errors as premiums. Thinking just because it might grade out pretty high plus the error might make it look sweet in a graded slab.

Definitely not worth grading. I'm like John1, if it's not worth at least $100 it's not worth grading.

Yes I definitely understand where you guys are at on that, yet it's such a clean coin, such a clean error. I think it would be nice to have it slabbed up. Just one of those sentimental things where money doesn't really matter. It's my first dime error besides like broadstrikes and greesers.

I wouldn't suggest slabbing. Larger (and high res) photos would help focus this discussion a bit.

I'd have a hard time spending up to $50 for grading a coin that is worth face value. But that is just me.

If you feel you must slab it, ANACS will cost you the least.

There's also joining PCGS at a higher tier level and using a free submission on it I guess. ANACS would be the cheapest. And usually they have submission deals a few times a year that make it even cheaper if you have a few oddballs that you'd want slabbed but don't have much value to them but want protected as a sort of trophy of your hunt. :D

Just buy a generic shell and holder it yourself. Will protect it almost as well, cost $1 instead of $35, and you can put anykind of identification on the labels that you want instead of being limited to what the TPG's use.

If you get it graded, it won't come back with any error identification for feeder fingers, I don't think. You'll just have a slabbed 2019 dime in low MS condition, and you'll have paid about $40 to get it. I have noticed that these coins are actually selling on ebay, but the market is totally out of line with rarity. I recommend selling them while there's a market, because these are $1 coins at best under normal circumstances, from what I can surmise.

Slab if you like, but I would be concerned about not receiving the desired label.

Why slab it? Find 9 more and you can get a Snickers from the vending machine!!

Mod note: Let's not get too snarky.

Not sure why you asked us if money doesn't matter.
Oh, BTW, feeder scratches are DAMAGE. No premium (that's why you couldn't find "values" for it) and certainly nothing to get "sentimental" over.

Yes but they are damage to the die, not to the coin. They are like a die crack or a die clash, a different die stage.
