Got the same piece. But mine had a small hole drilled into it

Common date.
Probably would grade G-04.
Not sure what the green color is but could be verdigris.

Worth $5-10.

I'll say F details (obverse cut).

I'm way different in the assessment of this one. the shield is too strong for anything lower than VF35. when assessing the obverse the lettering is missing partial letters in the R and C in America. this is telling my weakly struck as the shield is the highest point on the die. the reverse columns outlines and inset beading are much sharper than a F coin and look to be VF. I'm at VF details (ED) weakly struck. value wise I agree its going to drop quite a bit due to strike and ED

I agree with @panzaldi, this one is a softly struck VF-35. Really, it isn't that far from an EF-40.

I'm not so sure this one gets detailed. Silver treys and fish scales get a bit more leeway on circulation knocks because of their size. The surface conditions are a mixed bag here. Yes, it is ED, but it isn't visually offensive. It has a bit of character. I could see it trading as a VF-35, with a bit of price haggling to offset the surface conditions. The price is in the ballpark.

Looks more like the coin in seller's pics in hand. Here is the coin in hand under a bright light to see detail better. Nice orange, yellow and green hues that I have had difficulty capturing. Thoughts? Thanks!

I'd be at XF40, except for the big scratches.

VF/EF and clearly a details coin. (cuts). The appeal of this coin at $47 is beyond me.
