Hi - if anyone out there is knowledgeable about Euros I would appreciate some help with this one. Is the "S" in the star between the 20 & 02 of the year semi - rare. Also
does the 2 protruding into the silver out of the ordinary ? Thanks in advance - Bob

@rcmartin, according to numista, they made 70,000,000 with that S (vs. 75M for without the S). It doesn't look like there is a premium either way:

Hi, I travel to Greece occasionally and both 1 Euro and 2 Euro coins with Finnish S mintmark are quite abundant in circulation even after 18 years. So no, in circulated condition, they just worth 2 Euro in Eurozone. I think the story behind them is Greece wasn't able to mint enough Euro coins for some technical reason before Drachma is replaced with Euro, so the government back then got some coins minted in France (1,2,5 and 50 Cents), Spain, (10 and 20 cents) and Finland (1 and 2 Euro) with F, E and S Mintmarks on one star on the coin. I found all those with F, E and S mintmark Greek euros in circulation, yet, 1 and 2 cents with F mintmark are getting harder to find each year. Hope that helps.
