If damaged, just a normal Wheat cent. The lower back of the head looks like it took a hit there. So what you are seeing is probably scraping that was moved to the northern area of the coin. PSD.

Mystery solved at higher mag...Now you can plainly see that it is a chip off the rim. (my new microscope!)

Also you can see, I easily flicked it off with a small nail. I was surprised about how easily the surface was stratched too. Example of how not to handle a coin if it is valulable. :) But, this was a regular ol' Wheat penny.
