So km new to this and really need help I have so many coins this is a few I would like to learn coin collecting better that's why I am here but I'm clueless I enjoy this hobby.can you help me by helping determine if at all any of these have errors or such rare. And any advice you can give me I would be grateful
I have 1944 d 1944 s 1944 nm some 1942 1947 1952 1941 1982 1985 1971 1972 and more Lincoln cents one that is very poor in condition but I have become addicted to trying to determine the date. Idk why but I just feel like I have to or else I suck lol I know its 191 but cant make the last number out. Also a dime that is thicker images wording in general the entire dime is thicker. 1985. Also a bunch of w mint Mark's on some coins. Out of those. Should I be looking for anything in general.i know I suck at this. I apologize

Under normal circumstances, that 1944-D should NOT appear to be made of steel. Now I don't know if your other 1944's are like this due to a lack of pics, but either way, this means one of two things - a plated coin, which is very possible, or an extremely rare, elusive off-metal error.

What you should do is take that and the other 44's, weigh them, and test to see if they're magnetic. Plated coins that are still copper will be heavier (3.11g) and non-magnetic. A steel cent should only weigh 2.7g and be magnetic unlike standard copper cents. I hope for the best.

All you would have had to do is lead with that 1944 D. There are only 8 known examples if it is steel which it sound like it is. You can read up on third party grading services. They can authenticate your coin and then you can sell it at auction and buy hundreds of thousands of more pennies (assuming it is 1944 D Steel cent. The rust on the picture looks like it is. Anyway someone is bound to say, submit only one coin at a time. When you do post, include both the obverse (In God WE Trust) and the Reverse. Maranatha!

Best to show your coins one at a time in separate threads with your questions.

To start you should look into buying a book on coins such as the Red Book by Whitman Publishing. If no coin or hobby stores in your area, try on line with places like Wizard coin supplies. Once you have a book with lots of info on coins, you can decide what you have better. Be careful handling that one Silver looking 1944 in case it is really a steel cent.
