I posted a few errors on my Facebook page and my aunt back in Texas replied to one of them with "CALL ME NOW." At first I was worried that something was wrong, but it turns out it was a question about coins.

She has an old cedar chest that hadn't been opened for a number of years and in moving it around the house found "Three Bags" of old coins that no one remembers putting there.

She wanted me to contact her so she could send all of them to ME!

I don't think that it'll be anything but what most people have hiding in dark areas in their homes, the most common coins with lots of damage and tons of circulation wear. Still, it's just really hard not to daydream about what could be on its way.

Now I'm anxious and hoping the coins get to New Jersey RIGHT NOW, even though it's only been one day.

If I run into anything interesting I'll be posting. Wish me luck!

Good luck. The same happened to me last year, My mom found a few coins in Portugal when she returned. A few were pretty nice silver coins.

Hope it's a bunch of 1909 S VDB and 16 Ds

If you happen to come across any 1793 AMERI. Chain cents, they are virtually worthless and I'll unburden you from them so it's less clutter......

We'll all be on the edge of seats with you waiting ... waiting ... waiting ...

Good Luck! Don't get too excited. Over the years I've had the same thing happen to me a few times. I've found maybe 2 or 3 coins worth anything decent ($100-200) out of a few thousand.

Good luck! Looking forward to the tales and photos.

A few years ago I left my dad's with a modest stash of old LWCs and some other coins (a few hundred coins, perhaps). I didn't find any winners but I did fill a few holes in my "from circulation" album, and I got a lot of joy out of it knowing some of these had been my grandfather's. The thing most memorable to me was getting stopped in airport security because of a "large mass of metal" in my carry-on bag. I think TSA has seen it all but they did give me kind of a "oh, jeez, a coin nerd" look. Similarly TSA opened my checked bag for the same reason - found the note when I got home and unpacked.

I wish you luck but from my experience it's usually a hoard of Ike and Kennedy clad circulated. For some reason people saved the heck out of them around 1976. Lol. Happens every time to me.
