This coin of mine was posted on the forum here some time ago by a companion of mine. I recently submitted it to NGC, but this specimen has been a challenge for all. I believe it to have been restruck multiple times. Liberty, of the head dress, flows out, forward and in front of the primary. Never really breaking off. Sure, one must bring themselves to look beneath the surface on this coin to see, experience it's lessons, but not completely. If you'll allow yourself to only focus on LIBERTY of the head dress, I can only hope the expertise you possess can answer, should I now submit this iconic coin, irony an all, to PCGS? I see no evidence of a double strike, much less a multiple strike. Obverse appears to have been coated with a foreign substance which is now flaking off. Reverse shows PMD, ED, and some possible effort to alter the surfaces. Not a mint-struck coin in this condition. Waste of money to resubmit this coin to PCGS.

Can't get a read on this one without clearer pics. All I am currently seeing is a good amount of PMD and ED. Definitely a Details coin.

Wait a minute!! You sent this coin to NGC? And of course they would reject it and you want to send it to PCGS? I really think you should!!

I agree with Frog PMD. No value in sending to PCGS.

I also agree with Coinfrog - Do not waste your money sending it to PCGS.

Even if they do somehow grade it, it's going to come back as PR-1, and a value of 1 cent.

Give it a long bath in acetone, hit it with some verdigris, and then keep it in your pocket with some other change for a few years. Might wear it down to a normal looking coin hehe. As it stands though, yeah no value.
