It was a steal at $35. Grading opinions?

AU 53/55'ish. The urge to dip it would be overwhelming if it were mine.

Nice pickup and a steal at 35$.

This was how it arrived. Ran it through some xylene and then acetone, "cleaned" up nicely.

Confused by the color now.

What luster was seen in the original pics appears to be gone and the coin now looks tan'ish and dull.

I'm headed south to XFville!

Still not bad at 35$!

It's definitely AU by technical grading.

I could see a downward knock for the remaining toning, which I believe PCGS would rate as below average because it has a splotchy appearance, especially on the obverse. The reverse is better, and likely pulls an average eye appeal designation. The obverse is the concern. The knock would likely be from 55 to 53 or from 53 to 50. JMHO.

Sorry, should have been more clear. The FIRST pics are after the xylene and acetone bath. The second round of pics were before, when it first arrived.

AU-55, the xylene and acetone helped. Is the color accurate on both sets of pics?

Personally I think AU-50, regardless of the grade though it's a nice coin at a great price.

Color is pretty darn close. Coin looks a bit darker in the second round of pics ( sellers initial pics).

Thanks everyone! Figured it would fit well in the 7070 until I upgrade to a better date.
