I was looking at this before listing it for sale and found a couple of cracks. Is this a cracked Planchet?

I think I see a trace of die crack(s)--proximity of 44 and LAR of DOLLAR.. Perhaps a higher-res photo or two with slightly different lighting angles would help.

I'm gonna get some better pics tonight. But the crack on the reverse runs through the LL in Dollar and runs all the way to the edge of the coin and also splits at the top of the R and runs up

The raised lines across the devices indicate your half dollar was struck with a cracked die. Nice find!

Thanks. Does it add to the value of the coin? I'm gonna keep it now but was just curious.

I wouldn't think much, but others may disagree. This is a cracked die, not cracked planchet, which would be a different story.

The cracked die makes the coin more interesting, in my opinion. It doesn't raise the book value, but it could increase the sale price if a buyer is willing to pay more for the die cracks.
