Hello Everyone,
I'm a newbie and this is my first attempt of posting images etc!..This is a State Silver Proof Quarter that I've had for awhile and thought maybe I could get some feedback or thoughts on it. What attracted me to this coin was the toning. Lots of blues, orange, and red hues (with luster)
It appears to me to be natural toning. The scratch on Washington's face is from the window of the 2x2 holder...Hope it's not too much a distraction for viewers here, but my camera doesn't do the greatest on macro.

Wonder if this is worth the effort to send to PCGS or NGC for grading? Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Thank You,
Rick

to CCF. Looks nice but not worth sending in. Weight? Whenever possible it is best to remove coins from holders before taking pics.

Your right should have taken out of holder for better results.
Whey you say: "Weight" are u referring to how heavy the coin is or did you mean to say: "Wait" meaning to early of a coin to send in for grading (investment wise)
Just a little confused here?

In my opinion, it's a good looking coin. I'm seeing a few light dings here and there, and the possibility of a finger print to the left of the lighthouse. Additional photos (without the 2x2) might tell us more.

Was the toning present when the coin was in the 2003 proof set packaging?

I would like to know the weight to make sure it is silver and I also thought I seen a fingerprint.

Yep, there are a few imperfections as I took the coin out of the 2x2 as suggested. My camera is better than I thought!
The toning? I was given this coin a few years back so I don't know the origin when it was taken out of the proof set..Sorry!

I hope these images give more prudence to the integrity of the coin. It definitely looks much better out of the standard 2x2 holder.

Ok...took it out and weighed it.
It's weight corresponds to the Silver Proof.
Thank you for asking

Hello
Coin looks to have natural toning, there are some distractions, as others have said such as a fingerprint. I would not have it graded, unless it was a proof 68 or higher, falls just short of that. But it is a very beautiful coin and worth keeping as conversation piece. Keep up the coin hunting and beauty is always in the eye of the beholder!javascript:insertsmilie('')

Beautifully toned, scratches are a bit distracting and it seems to have a few of them. Probably PR64 or so. Collectors love natural rainbow toning, so I think there would be some interest in this coin.
