My thoughts on this coin are that based on the state of LIBERTY on shield it looks vf25 or so and that is an important diagnostic. But the rest of the coin looks XF, especially the eagle on reverse which looks really nice with great detail.

XF details cleaned. The coin looks like it has had an old clening and re-toned.

Well, she's a beauty. LIBERTY on shield looks sharper on shield. Bright blue obverse peripheral toning. Wouldn't be surprised if it ends up in a PCGS xf40 holder. Great eye appeal. Thoughts?

Nor would I, but then again PCGS could put anything in an EF-40 holder and I wouldn't be surprised.

That aside, VF-35 imo.

Maybe that's a bit far in general, but for circulated Newfoundland coins (my area of interest) it's standard practice .

Truth be told though, I do like this 20 cent piece, and seeing what ends up their AU-58 holders, PCGS EF-40 isn't out of the question.
