Short version: LCS 11:50 am today, just stacked 20 XF Peace dollars out of dealers $17.50 each bag. Old time dealer then pulls out Indian key and semis from 1870-1877 from a Whitman dump- customer needed money for day before.I believed it,have picked over every Indian he has. The 77 was on top...ahhh Hmmmm. Greysheet $360.00 G-4 firm says he (smirking).Peace dollars promptly went back in his sack the Indian cent went in my pocket. Asked why did you wait to show me? "I bet even money you would buy it and enjoy watching you cherry pick. My response "whose cherrypicking whom here?" I like the coin, think it makes G-6 even with the gash. Passed on 10 1877's last 4 months all slabbed straight G4-VG8 they seemed ugly and overgraded none had 360 degree obverse rims save the VG and its price was $620.00. Indian collectors what's your opinion? pics of the AG3 am replacing on bottom.

Don't know Diddley squat on authentication of these, but it looks real to me, and I think G-6 sounds right. I could definitely see VG-8 from PCGS or NGC however.

His coins come with a moneyback guarantee, I could be mistaken but am confident if it is counterfeit it would be one expert counterfeiter. All diagnostics match color looks good the shine is my lighting glare. Still sending it to NGC as want clean bill of health. I think this one is worth the grading fee just to be sure. Its a decent looking coin in hand, leery of raw key date coins but took the chance on this one since his shop is 2 miles away.

VG-08 here as well. Great coin! Your Indian cent as well as die variety pickups/cherry picks are always nice. You've picked out some goodies! -CH27

Thanks all. T-bop your at G-6? I consider that a complament on the coin. By the way going back for those Peace dollars $17.50 when you buy 20 I haven't been able to find sellers who ask below $22.00 in KC, Phil's in Wichita is out. Hitting the smaller part time dealers for reasonable premiums. That's another story for another forum area.

I'd be at G-04 on this one but it is an 1877 so *drool*.

After checking on photograde, and with the rim wear and no details on the feathers I'm going with g-04 I believe that if you get this graded by a TPG it will come back as g-06 because the key dates (and especially the 1877 are over graded)
