Hi Guys,

I'm wondering which efigies are those one penny 1926 and 1927 coins belong to? Anyone knows? Thanks.

I believe that's George V of England, as stated on the coin.

I'm sorry for the vauge question! I'm not very good in English. I was trying to say are they old effigy or the modified effigy (it has changed in 1926/7) of George V on the coins, to rephrase the question. :)

The 1927 is Modified Effigy as all 1927 pennies are. The 1926 is the old effigy - which is the more common one.
The usual way of telling the difference is by the initials on the truncation (base of bust). On the ME the BM are close together, without dots between and set far to the right of the available space. On the old effigy, they are further apart, separated by dots and towards the centre of the truncation.
If you can't see this, the colon between BRITT and OMN is another good lead. On the old effigy this is central between the T and the O, on the ME it much closer to the T.

I hope that helps!

PaddyB : Thanks a lot! - I've set those two coins inside a box since 2015 to find some time to identify which effigies are they.
