Does it look really bright silvery? I have a worn Barber dime with surfaces exactly like that. Somebody went at it with a Dremel or something.

It has a normal shine to it. No abnormal scratches. The 3 in the year also looks offset. Is that normal as well? New to these coins

Nobody seams to notice the foot, two feet where only the one should be at the far right. Not really the foot but the bottom of the shoe is doubled. Now also note the folds on the bottom of the dress near that foot. To many folds in the material right over that foot. One of those material folds runs to far to the left. Or am I imagining all that?

I'm new to this but could I send this in to have it verified as real or fake?

Well the bottom of the foot is normal. That is the foot and the sole of the sandal. You just don't normally see it that well deliniated.

My scale should be at home when I get back and I'll weigh it and see what it weighs. Other thank that the damage to the coin still has me curious. But it's PMD I guess. Not really any coin shops in my area.

While the weight is being ascertained, and while I trust T-BOP's intuition, I'd ask, why would anyone fake/counterfeit a plan-ole 43-S? I'm not saying it is genuine, I can just think of a lot of other dates I'd copy before a 43-S. I agree the 3 looks off, and that hole doesn't look "normal" to me, so I might have to side with T-BOP on this one. Could very well be PMD. And "No abnormal scratches" Id have to disagree with... appears to be cleaned to me. Maybe in an effort to "legitimize" it?
