I compared this to the PCGS examples, the doubling on his nose and chin seem congruent, the doubling on IN GOD WE TRUST seems legit, the doubling on E in LIBERTY is obvious ( I think). The damage makes it so I can't make out the Y, but what do you think? Is it worth it to send to NGC to verify?

The affected areas are showing circulation wear, vending machine damage and Machine Doubling after the coin was struck. All worth what is says on the back of this coin. Do you know what to look for on this DDO?

Note the red arrows and the white arrows? The red ones are Machine Doubling. Note how this affects the coin after the strike (yes even doubled dies can be affected by Machine Doubling because the machine causes it) But also note the white arrows? Those are showing the hub doubling. Note they are enlarging the designs on those areas because the the die was created that way. But on the machine doubled areas, they are all reduced on those areas. Because the machine caused it. The difference? Why do you think they call these doubled dies? The doubling is ..... (ready for this?) on the dies. Thus the term doubled dies.

Thank you for the feedback, your sarcasm was duly noted. I'll stick to just reading the comments from now on, sorry for posting such a stupid coin. I appreciate the message of "don't speak until you've read every book, have a complete understanding of hub bubbling, Machine Doubling and the intricate detail for which dies are made."

I shall bow and slowly back away....

I'm not pushing away, I'm just helping others what took me so long to figure out. What look almost decades to learn, I'm able to bring people up speed in weeks. I was trained by yes and no answers. Now I want everyone to see why I commented on their coin so they now see what I see. The comment was about reading was not a put down in anyway. It is something I've realized looking back at the time I spent searching, knowing more about what to look for. I welcome questions. Even if it is the same one over and over. It helps he instruct in a way that reaches the collectors. It teaches me patience. If helps me think what can I do to be a better teacher. Please don't back off. I'm just sharing what I did incorrectly so you won't make the same mistakes I made. No sarcasm was insinuated. Ask any others here. They tell you what type of person I am.

As long as you learn from the coin and what to look for, it's never stupid to post and coop along with others here reach out to expand/share their knowledge for the pure purpose for others. I sniped this site for over 3 years before joining, reading every thread/topic and comment posted to the the "last 100 new topics" and still do. I also read through the entire glossary and most all blue hi-lighted links and bookmarked all the error sites like coppercoins and errorrefs (to name a couple) That being said, I hope you will feel free to post any coin you may have questions on...Best of luck on future finds and enjoyment to this hobby. Or in my case addiction.........
