Haven't been buying notes, but I did win one in a contest. My first "fancy" serial number.

Well I usually complain that Captain Coffee bullied me into getting star notes, but this time he had no influence. For those that go on the world coins, I've been working on a small type of set of coins from Portugal and while I can use ebay, I would rather buy locally. For those interested here is the thread. HFJacinto's killer collection of coins from PortugalBUT I digress, my local coin shop calls me when he gets new coins from Portugal (or he brings out 1 a week, could be either or but I haven't figured out which yet ), so I went on Friday and picked up a new coin from Portugal and Pete goes: "Hey hfjacinto, I know you collect currency, I got in group of 9 consecutive 1976 $2 star notes, I didn't pay much for them, I can give you them for $30"The money couldn't come out of my wallet fast enough. All are CU, here is a random note. And the 9.

Hey all, Recently picked up an Obsolete. This is my oldest Obsolete. The cool part is the date, it has meaning to me. CU condition and the ink hasn't eaten through the paper. The Hoboken Banking and Grazing company was known to have a few counterfeit notes at the time, so unknown if this is counterfeit or not, if it is, its a really good copy based on the ones I've been able to find. If its not, its almost 200 years old. How many were printed and lost? And how many actually made it to 2022?

Very interesting note, and great condition, as well! Quote: The cool part is the date, it has meaning to me. In my U.S. coin sets, I get as many 1883-dated coins as I can when trying to fill holes, also because of that year's significance to me...

I know its been a while. I've still been getting currency but just not US based. I am going to do a sell and upgrade on Saturday, so hoping to have an update to post. CoinFrog once told me that when he started collecting currency he sold off a lot of his coins, and I do agree that notes are addicting (but I still like coins). The journey had me start with about 20 notes to this.
