I was looking through my coins and came across this piece. I'm not sure what's the terms are for what going on here. Just when I think I learn something it's back to the drawing board. What are these errors or damages? Is there a name for it.
And thank you for any and all help while learn this new hobby.
3rd photo might be a die chip, but I've seen very few KHD with them 4th photo is PMD (post mint damage) scratches 5th photo might be struck through debris
Lets see what other say...good luck, enjoy the hobby
Looks like the coin was struck through some debris chips. These may have been rolled on to the planchet, or during the strike. But I feel it happened at the time of the strike. Can you see where some have peeled of a bit? No a premium for these unless the peel is huge.
Very nice added photos...what model microscope do you have? With additional photos I stick to my comments above only changing my thoughts about (old) photo #3 not a die chip, it's a struck through debris
