*** Edited by Staff to Add Year / Mintmark / Denomination to Title. Titles are Important! ***Purchase this coin for my collection a few years back. I was reluctant to have it graded by a Third Party. Which one would you choose . Thank you all for your valued answers. Have a wonderful day and be safe! Bob *** Moved by Staff moved to a more appropriate forum. ***

No opinion on a grading company but

Beautiful coin, PF-66 at least IMO.
I would get this graded at either PCGS or NGC if it were mine. I would consider them both to be pretty much equally good, with PCGS getting maybe a bit of an edge/

Agree, either of these two major TPGs is a good choice.

Quite a few on the CCF know that I am not a fan when it comes to slabs but I really have to agree that this one should be slabbed.

I surely would, after a quick peek at Red & Blue Books value at MS-65, and I think yours may do even better than that.

Doesn't look quite right. I'm a bit concerned this may be a business strike that was plated? Not an expert on these though so take my words with a major grain of salt.

I'm also not an expert on these, but I agree it looks a bit unusual. The surfaces look too uniformly reflective, and there seems to be a lack of detail in the head, robe lines, and eagle breast for a proof strike. I certainly could be wrong, and I would suggest PCGS or NGC if you get it graded.

Yep this sure does look like a plated business strike . If that coin was a proof it would have some toning to it . This piece has absolutely no toning at all , just high gloss shine .

Coin has never been plated, the photographer was my niece, she works with a studio bay that does designs and magazines, /she took these pictures as kindness to me , This is the real deal. Thank you all for you kindness and have a wonderful day. Sincerely Bob

Here's the reverse of a proof from the same year. Note the absolute hammer strike on the eagle's feathers and breast. On your coin the breast is almost flat, and the lower feathers aren't well differentiated. It also doesn't have that glossy look, and exhibits expected toning.

Thank you all for you kindness and have a wonderful day. Sincerely Bob Bob , Because your Niece photographed your coin doesn't prove that it's a proof unless she is a well seasoned coin collector . The late consensus is trying to inform you that your coin is more than likely a Business strike , not looking to put anyone down . While not recommending it , maybe you should have it slabbed and authenticated .

I do not think that is a proof. It looks highly polished throughout with not even the slightest hint of a cameo.

Unfortunately I am also going with plated. Fields on the obverse have a very unusual granulated look. Low points in all of the details look to be filled ( very common with plating since you obviously adding material to the surface). And like others have pointed out, lack of detail on high points and a WAY to consistent gloss appears are all red flags. I'd be curious to see what the edge of this coin looks like. If that same "glossy" surface carries into the reeds would be a pretty big giveaway.
