It's weird how copper clad looks to be pealed away but zinc is like smeared over top of copper clad.  and peaces of copper mixed in especially see in pealed area over steps.

I have seen other posts of similar problems and 1 is currently posted from today (Monday 3-29). I researched plating issues/values for a client this past winter and only found 1 source that valued such mint errors by approximate percentage unplated/misplated. Values ranged from $10 - $ 100 each (10% to c.100% error). I wish I could remember the party off the top of my head, but that's only reference I saw for someone credible, I presume, trying to track these reported occurrences. For what it's worth....
