Here are a couple 1984 Lincoln's I was looking at. Are these more Die Deterioration, Machine Doubling, or possible DDO? Your expertise on this is greatly appreciated

Here is the first one

Couple of things.... Probably better off posting just one coin at a time but this is my opinion on your coins. Your first example looks to have some characteristics of Coneca DDO-002 and I say that because of what looks like a tail on the horizontal bar of the 4 and also what looks like notching on the bottoms of ERTY. There is a lot of glare in the pics so it's hard to tell. The second coin looks like a normal 1984 Lincoln. Question- What happened to the reverse photo of your first pictured coin? The lower half does not line up with the upper half of the coin.

I didnt even notice that on the reverse picture.....I dont know how that happened....didnt look like that when I posted it....its the same coin, just seems like the photo moved to the right a little bit.

As for the glare, I am trying to get better photos, but my scope that I am taking pictures from directs the light odd.....what pictures of the first coin would be ideal? I can get them and post them....hopefully with less glare...

I don't think the first coin is DDO 002, some of the letters in liberty aren't the same at all. The top one is smacks coin and the one on the bottom is the DDO 002

I can go with that JohnH. Thanks for the comparison. Like I mentioned, my eyes ain't what they were. I was seeing what I thought to be some notching on the bottoms of RTY from his first pics which looked sort of promising (less glare would be better) but you are correct on the LIB which doesn't look to be there for that variety on the OP's coin.

I think you need to put a filter on your light source and that would make things easier for you and us.

Mostly MD on the date area of the first one. Slight MD on the inside the '98' on the second one. Why no DDD? Well on the first one. You see the MD on the right side of the devices, making you think of DDD, but when you look at Liberty, nothing on the side that the DDD would show. (left side of the devices) So the is not DDD. Same on coin #2. MD on right of date, nothing on the left for the Liberty. The MD is weaker on coin #2. (The DDD is only on the reflective sides of the starting to be affected, but not a big issue yet for this die)
